Overview

Bachelor of Physiotherapy / BPT is preferred to be one of the most blooming courses that you can choose if you are aspiring to take any of the paramedical courses. Bachelor of Physiotherapy enables the candidates to study the treatment of muscle spasms, injuries, muscular and locomotive problems, nervous problems due to ageing, disorders in moving, trying to help the patient and making the most of a patient`s mobility and functioning.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a 4.5 year under graduate degree programme. It is a paramedical course which a student can opt if suppose they are interested in muscular and nervous related issue.

BPT also studies human anatomy in different forms and it helps you to recover quickly. Bachelor of Physiotherapy is an undergraduate medical course which covers the different aspects of human anatomy which in turn helps the candidates in comprehending and interpreting the locomotion and movement of different individuals. It is a very good on demand course if completed from a reputed college has immense scope.

Eligibility criteria

  1. The candidate must have completed his /her 10+2 from a recognized board.
  2. The candidate must have opted for physics, chemistry, Biology as compulsory subjects.
  3. A minimum of 50% marks should be scored in 10+2 and a relaxation of 5% to student belong to category like SC/ST

Admission Process

  1. There is no specific entrance exam like All India Entrance Exam AIEE or NEET & AIIMS do not conduct tests for the admission of Physiotherapy.
  2. Student can get admission in BPT through KCET or on the basis of merit or their class 12th examination.
  3. While a few universities conduct their own entrance exams some accept state level or national level exam results.
  4. Admissions in Bachelor of Physiotherapy are divergent in different colleges and universities.

What Does a Physiotherapist do?

When you complete your 4.5 years of Physiotherapy course you can practice as a physiotherapist under an experienced professional. They treat different problems. Their main focus on the locomotion, prevention and rehabilitation of muscles, nerves and human anatomy.

  1. Treatment can be done for problems caused by injury, disease or disability.
  2. Problems in bones, joints, muscle ligaments, such as arthritis or after effects of amputation
  3. Loss of mobility because of trauma, stroke to the brain or spine or multiple sclerosis.
  4. Bladder, bowel problems, pelvic muscle issue.
  5. The disability of the after effects of heart problems.
  6. Lung problems such as asthma.
